discovery: something about adding a jacket to an otherwise feminine outfit, you know, an i’m-too-sexy-for-da-cube kinda thang:

2005: leather jacket – danier/2011: skirt (one of my fans) – boutique@seneca/2012: blouse – espirit, heels – 9west
it took me about 2 years to get around to wearing this jacket after i bought it (turns out i like the ‘idea’ of the studs but in reality i wasn’t convinced i could pull it off). but almost 7 years later this jacket has become one of favourite pieces.
i normally wear the jacket on weekends but i realized this is a great way for me to wear it in the cube.

discovery: this $35 denim pencil skirt (its got stretch too) is a great look for casual fridays.

2011: belt – jacob/2012: patent pumps – 9west, blazer – h&m, top – sara, skirt – rw&co ($35)
the traditional denim skirts can tend to make you look like you’re already in weekend mode. this one kicks it up a notch, taking me from day to after-work drinks. it’s sure to keep me lookin’ cube-tastic all season long.

is there a school of “that’s not my job, but i’ll do what i can to make yours harder” that some people go to?
rediscovery: i bought this dress for a wedding in 2010 and never wore it again. wondering if i can work it this year in warmer temps (and before it gets too damn tight!)

2010: dress – 9west, patent pumps – joe fresh
this dress makes my arms look lovely. i seriously need to work this again. for real.

style inspiration: kerry washington in this lovely patterned full skirt + white blouse looking oh so chic:

my inspired work appropriate look:

2010: patent pumps – joe fresh, ruffled blouse – jacob, multi-strand pearls/2012: skirt – anthropologie, leather lady-purse – locale
this is my first full skirt. i’ve always been a bit apprehensive about this particular style – wasn’t sure how flattering it would be on me.
but i’m loving it – so chic. i really like the pattern of this skirt and the fact that i can wear this skirt with any number of bright coloured tops in my closet e.g. green, orange, blue. i’m gonna put this skirt to ‘work’ for sure!
