style challenge: forever 21 black and white striped dress (look 1)

discovery: i bought this black & white stripped dress for $12.50 at forever 21 a few weeks ago. and no, it was not for my 16 year old cousin…it was my style challenge:

i decided i would bring home and challenge myself to come up with at least 3 cube dwelling appropriate looks.

turns out the length was a challenge in and of itself but that’s just details and let’s not bother with those at the moment. how you enjoy how i ‘work’ this one out!

first up, i’m pairing it with a cropped jacket

discovery: one of my favourite tops is on its last legs…

i will need to retire this blouse at the end of the season, it’s fading and lost its crispness *frown*. but since the season is not over yet, i’m gonna work the heck outta of it!

discovery: how much i love white in the spring/summer months.

i bought these very wide-legged trouser from joe fresh recently. they are super long and will require heels at all times:

2011: orange blouse – old navy, leopard wedges – 9west/2012: white trousers – joe fresh, preppy navy blazer – pink tartan

i love these pants, very katherine hepburn-esque. now all i have to do is try not to get it dirty on the subway ride into the office… yikes!

discovery: toying with the idea of coloured denim for the office. i bought a pair of green denim from h&m for $30 – i figure it’s as big as a commitment i’m willing to make on this particular trend.

also, following the rule of 3s this is how i will work it 3 ways:

2007: sheer blouse – jacob/2010 – necklace + bracelet/2011: leopard flats – kenneth cole/2012: blazer – h&m, handbag – locale
