discovery: keepin’ things simply safari-inspired with the khaki skirt, white button-down shirt and afro-inspired accessories.

2007: skirt – jacob, bangle – gift/ 2010: shirt – h&m, necklace – fragments jewellers/ 2012: shoes – (consignment store find), handbag – locale
tip: alternations can extend the life of your clothes. this skirt hit mid-calve when i bought it. i wore it with boots back in 2007 and with wedges. then a couple years ago i decided to shorten it instead of buying a new skirt. it’s still workin’ for me!
so before you toss that item out, ask “can this work if i get it altered?” it’s seriously worth considering.

discovery: wearing this jewel-toned espirit dress with yellow accessories gives it more interest than pairing it with silver or black. def summer cube-dwelling appropriate.

2008: yellow necklace + bracelet – le chateau/2012: dress – espirit, shoes – 9west
oh, and i actually got a manicure (not something i do regularly). the colour is called louvre me louvre me not by opi – i think.

discovery: workin’ two bright colours (turquoise + yellow) and toning it down with some neutrals for a cube-dwelling appropriate look:

2008: bracelets – le château/2012: skiât – jcrew, t-shirt – mango, shoes – tahari, nail color “cocktail bling” essie
me
discovery: a very feminine dress from h&m paired with a wide belt and just a hint of my favourite colour in accessories – turquoise!

2007: necklace – mall vendor/ 2010: belt – mexx, watch – caravelle by bulova/2011: bangle – aldo/ 2012: dress – h&m, shoes – 9west
tip: this dress came paired with a brown belt with a gold buckle. it wasn’t workin’ for me so i decided to switch it out with my own belt.
is there a dress or an outfit in your closet that you can add a belt, change the existing belt, or remove the belt altogether to create a different the look? try it, you might be surprised.

style inspiration: victoria beckham in wide-legged trouser jeans and simple black blouse got me thinking of a look that would ‘work’ in the cube and the club….(well, maybe not the club so much as after work drinks with the girls! *cheers*)

inspired this cube dwelling appropriate look:

2008: purse – jessica mcclintock/2010: trouser jeans – joe fresh, ruffled blouse – h&m/2011: sunglasses – blvgari, pumps – liz clairborne/ 2012: blazer – chaiken and capone

here is another great way to work the pink blazer – with a striped tee and pencil skirt. you can swap the skirt for a pair of skinny jeans and the heels for some flats and you’ve got yourself a casual friday look.
honestly, who knew that a pink blazer can get so much milage. go ahead, take that coloured blazer and give it a good ‘work it’ out!
