Out of office: Sunday Morning with the Buskers – Scotiabank Buskerfest 2012, Toronto
rediscovery: blouse from h&m conscious line has a loose fit that i really love (‘cause believe me there are days when i need a top that floats away from me).

2012: blouse – h&m, trousers – gap/2011: jacket – calvin klein, booties – franco sarta/2007: handbag (might be a little older than 2007) – jessica mcclintock
going through this blogging journey i’ve realized that when it comes to my personal style i try to avoid the ‘uniform’ effect – wearing the same combo all the time to work.
here i’ve paired this blouse with my gap green trousers for a more casual yet cube-appropriate look but i will wear it with dress pants, a skirt, or a pair of skinny jeans. i’ve got options. i always need options!
tip: take a few minutes and think about your options
so think about that blouse you wear with that same pants all the time and ask, what else can i wear this with? and repeat this the next time to plan to wear the same top.
you’ll be surprised at the different options you come with – making your closet more versatile than you thought and hopefully keeping some $ in your wallet.

rediscovery: going back to basic black for the cube; just add some silver accessories to give it some interest.

rediscovery: this dress from girl friday in toronto that i bought in 2010 is one of my favourite dresses. love the pattern, colour, and ease of wear. plus i can throw on some flats and wear it on the weekend or pumps + blazer and make it ‘work’!

2010: dress – nick & mo, clutch -french connection/2012: pumps – nine west, blazer – h&m

rediscovery: this skirt i’ve had for many years (since 2007) but it used to hit me about mid-calf which was on trend at the time.
i considered getting rid of it then decided to get it shortened instead. i’m glad i did.

2007: skirt – jacob/ 2010: striped shirt – gap, wedges – kenneth cole, reaction/2012: handbag – asos, denim shirt – joe fresh
tip: are there pieces in your closet that you would wear but the fit seems a bit dated? consider alterations as a way of updating the item and being able to ‘work it’ a little longer.
