I was listening to the How I Built This podcast episode with fashion designer Norma Kamali who is 75 and had this to say about aging, “The idea of getting old should be part of the passage in a woman’s life not something to fear but something to cherish because of the knowledge and experience you gain in each of these decades.”One of the wonderful things to come out of last year (I know..there were so few good moments for a lot of us😩), was taking daily walks and enjoying it - I did not take leisurely walks before that. I always needed to be going “somewhere” with purpose. But that changed and with it my need to be mindful about protecting my skin and to be way more disciplined about wearing sunscreen.Just finished listening to “Selfcare, A Novel” by Leigh Stein, it’s much more than a parody on the wellness industry as I thought she was so good at hitting the reader with realness about social media culture, race, privilege, class and relationships while keeping you laughing at the ridiculousness of the story.I don’t miss skinny jeans at all! I think they may go the way of the bra for 2021 relegated to the back of the closet and designated as the “forgotten” items in my wardrobe.Archives
