discovery: that the length of work appropriate shorts will vary depending on where you work. i personally like to work a bermuda short in the hot days of summer for work, pair it with a blouse and some heels (see yesterdays post as well). 

out of office i like to go shorter if its a 30 degree kinda day. but if i could wear them to work, i think i would be inspired by this look:

however, i’ve decided, for the purposes of this post, to wear the same polka dot blouse worn above (because i forgot to recreate a look using this inspiration photo) to dress up my weekend shorts for a work environ where short shorts are acceptable: 

2012: bermuda shorts – anne taylor, loft; taupe handbag + blouse – sara; black patent pumps – nine west; white shorts – joe fresh/2010: patent pumps + black shorts – joe fresh/2009: red pumps – nine west/2002: handbag – marks & spencer

and just because ‘you think’ you can wear short shorts in the cube, doesn’t necessarily make it so. be mindful of your office’s dress code and when in doubt, ask.

also you could totally wear these shorts out socially – swap the pumps for some flats…or not… and forget about work all together. drinks on a patio anyone?
